Erin received a BA in English and an MA in Writing with a Book Publishing emphasis from Portland State University. Prior to the creation of Bare Bones, Erin held positions with Ooligan Press, Gertrude Press, The Ink & Paper Group, Dame Rocket Press, and Oliver Wyman Delta Executive Learning Center. Since 2008, Erin has telecommuted for a web-based educational publishing company. As a founding board member of the Portland Artists Clinic, Erin advocates for accessible, affordable health care services for members of Portland's creative communities.

Since having returned to the Mid West, through Bare Bones Twig continues his advocacy work and instruction with local GSA groups and various regional youth literacy organizations. In an effort to provide a perspective that was lacking during Twig's own adolescents, he regularly provides workshops and lectures about gender variant representation within literature to an array of audiences around the country. Having already acquired a BA in Creative Writing and an MA in Writing with a Book Publishing emphasis, Twig now pursues a PhD. in Creative Writing and Literature.
